The Storekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the storage and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment within our facilities. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments. The Storekeeper will ensure that all inventory is accurately tracked and maintained, supporting the overall efficiency of our construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials and supplies.
Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems.
Organize storage areas to optimize space utilization and accessibility.
Prepare materials for distribution to various project sites as required.
Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies or shortages.
Collaborate with procurement teams to reorder supplies as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations in handling materials.
Assist in training new staff on inventory management procedures.
Generate reports on inventory levels and usage trends for management review.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
Proven experience as a storekeeper or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as required.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Basic understanding of safety protocols related to material handling.
