Davidson Management Consultants have been mandated to recruit a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for their client which is a US based Defense and Aviation services provider headquartered in Abu Dhabi and a leading name in the Defense and Aviation industry since 1990.
The client is an aviation services provider, delivering mission-critical solutions to the defense sector through direct government contracts. The company also caters to the civil aviation market across the Middle East.
Specializing in sourcing and supplying high-quality aviation products and services from key suppliers in the United States, European Union, and UAE. With a lean, agile internal team led by experienced managers in operations, business development, and military support, the client is poised for strategic expansion and operational excellence.
We are looking for an experienced and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the client into its next phase of growth and regional influence.
The CEO will have end-to-end accountability for shaping corporate strategy, ensuring contract performance - especially with the UAE government - and driving business expansion within the GCC and beyond.
A key element of the role is maintaining and growing trusted relationships with government stakeholders, while optimizing the companyʼs operational and commercial capabilities across both defense and civil aviation sectors.
The CEO will define and lead the implementation of a clear strategic roadmap that positions the client as a leading aviation partner across the GCC and broader international markets.
Identify and capitalize on expansion opportunities in both military and civil aviation segments, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and market entry initiatives.
Ensure the company remains agile and competitive in evolving regional markets, adapting offerings to meet new client needs and regulatory frameworks.
Government Relations & Contract Development - Act as the primary liaison with UAE government entities, defense departments, and associated authorities to ensure alignment with national priorities.
Maintain and grow strong relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring that the client remains a preferred and trusted partner.
Oversee the management, renewal, and growth of long-term support contracts with the UAE government, with a strong focus on follow-on support programs, lifecycle services, and readiness assurance.
Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, including performance metrics, timelines, and budget adherence.
Operational Leadership - Work closely with the General Manager (defense operations), Operations Manager, and the logistics team to ensure streamlined and effective operations.
Oversee logistics, procurement, and service delivery to meet high standards of performance and compliance.
Champion digital and operational improvements that enhance responsiveness and efficiency.
Commercial & Financial Management - Drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability and risk management across the organization.
Ensure effective financial stewardship, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Engage with global suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable supply chains.
Leadership & Culture - Build and lead a strong executive team that supports growth and operational excellence.
Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and integrity across the organization.
Foster internal talent development, succession planning, and continuous learning.
The ideal candidate would have minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience, with a proven track record as a senior executive in aviation, defense, or government contracting.
Deep understanding of UAE and GCC government procurement systems, defense operations, and follow-on support services.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing P&L, contracts, and international supply chains.
Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and secure long-term government relationships.
GCC experience is required
.UAE experience strongly preferred.
Salary : Aed 75,000 per month, family benefits and performance incentives (salary mentioned is negotiable and will be commensurate with the experience of the candidate).
