Key Responsibilities:
Teaching:
Leading yoga classes for various levels, demonstrating poses and proper form, and offering modifications.
Guidance:
Providing individual or group instruction, assessing students' abilities, and offering advice on practice improvement.
Safety:
Ensuring proper alignment, teaching safe techniques, and preventing injuries.
Community Building:
Creating a welcoming and supportive environment, encouraging participation, and fostering a sense of community.
Administrative Tasks:
Participating in scheduling, marketing, studio maintenance, and other administrative duties.
Continuous Learning:
Staying up-to-date on the latest yoga techniques, attending workshops, and pursuing further education.
Additional Responsibilities (depending on the role):
Developing and implementing yoga programs.
Mentoring other instructors.
Managing a yoga studio.
Skills and Qualifications:
Yoga Training: Completion of a recognized yoga teacher training program (e.g., 200-hour, 500-hour).
Yoga Alliance Certification: Often a preferred or required credential.
Experience: Teaching yoga classes, working with diverse student populations, and potentially specialized experience (e.g., prenatal, restorative, vinyasa).
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to clearly communicate instructions, build rapport with students, and create a positive learning environment.
Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding of the body's movements and how yoga poses affect the body.
Empathy and Patience: Ability to connect with students' needs and individual journeys.
