seeking a skilled Transformer Service Engineer to oversee the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of power transformers. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise in electrical systems, with a focus on transformers used in power transmission and distribution. The role involves field operations, diagnostics, and ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of transformer assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of power transformers.
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure transformer reliability.
Diagnose and troubleshoot transformer faults and abnormalities.
Carry out onsite testing, including insulation resistance tests, oil analysis, and Dissolved Gas Analysis (DGA).
Repair and replace transformer components such as bushings, tap changers, and cooling systems.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, test results, and repairs.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
Assist in the planning and execution of transformer upgrade or refurbishment projects.
Provide technical support and training to clients and site staff as needed.
Keep up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Proven experience in transformer maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of testing equipment such as Megohmmeters, DGA kits, and power analyzers.
Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
Ability to work in field environments and handle technical challenges independently.
Diagnose and repair transformer faults (power & distribution types)
Perform testing (insulation resistance, turns ratio, SFRA, etc.)
Supervise oil filtration, rewinding, and overhauls
Coordinate with clients, prepare reports, manage service team
