Marine Electrician
Job Location : Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities :
• Install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment on marine vessels.
• Diagnose electrical problems and perform repairs on motors, generators, alternators, lighting systems, and electronic control systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure electrical systems comply with safety codes and maritime regulations.
• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics.
• Operate hand tools and testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and oscilloscopes.
• Collaborate with other marine engineers and technicians during ship construction, maintenance, or retrofit projects.
• Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Follow all safety procedures and maritime regulations while working in confined spaces or hazardous environments.
Qualifications :
• High school diploma or GED (required); technical school certification or associate degree in electrical technology or marine engineering (preferred).
• Completed apprenticeship or equivalent on-the-job training in marine electrical systems.
• Knowledge of marine electrical codes and standards (e.g., ABS, IMO, SOLAS).
• Ability to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and inclement weather.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in demanding conditions.
