A Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques to fabricate or repair structures, machinery, and equipment. The role requires reading blueprints, understanding welding procedures, and ensuring strong, high-quality welds that meet safety and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols
Prepare metal surfaces by cutting, grinding, or cleaning before welding
Perform welding using methods such as MIG, TIG, arc welding, or gas welding
Inspect welded joints for defects and quality standards
Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
Follow safety procedures and use protective gear to avoid hazards
Collaborate with fabrication and construction teams to meet project deadlines
Repair or replace damaged metal components as needed
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Comply with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
Qualifications:
Certification or diploma in welding or related trade (preferred)
Proven experience as a welder in a relevant industry
Knowledge of welding techniques, tools, and safety standards
Ability to work with different metals and alloys
Physical stamina and manual dexterity
