A Cargo Supervisor oversees the loading, unloading, handling, and documentation of cargo in warehouses, shipping yards, ports, or airports. The role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of goods, coordinating between warehouse staff, transport teams, and logistics partners. The supervisor is responsible for enforcing safety regulations and ensuring cargo is processed according to schedules and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise cargo loading/unloading operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
Verify and process shipping documents (bills of lading, manifests, airway bills).
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate storage and dispatch of cargo.
Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and handling of goods.
Coordinate with warehouse teams, transport drivers, and logistics personnel.
Maintain cargo records and update logistics systems.
Inspect incoming and outgoing cargo for damage or discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with customs, safety, and environmental regulations.
Train and manage cargo handling staff and ensure operational discipline.
Report operational issues, delays, or incidents to management promptly.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field (Graduate preferred for senior roles).
6+ years of experience in cargo/logistics operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of cargo handling procedures and international shipping regulations.
