A Pipe Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and fitting pipes according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role is vital in construction, oil & gas, shipbuilding, and manufacturing sectors where complex piping systems are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret piping isometrics, spool drawings, and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
Measure, cut, and prepare piping materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, etc.) using saws, torches, grinders, or other tools.
Perform pipe fitting and tack welding as per the specifications and tolerances.
Use pipe bending and threading equipment when required.
Assemble spools and piping sections to match shop drawings and weld maps.
Ensure fit-up and alignment meet quality standards and dimensional tolerances.
Mark, label, and tag completed assemblies or spools.
Assist in hydro testing preparation and support welding team for final joining.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental regulations at the worksite.
