A QC Coating Inspector is responsible for inspecting, monitoring, and ensuring that all surface preparation and coating/painting activities are performed according to project specifications, standards, and client requirements. This role is critical in industries like oil & gas, construction, and infrastructure where corrosion protection is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect surface preparation and coating application processes on steel or other materials
Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE, ISO 12944)
Monitor environmental conditions (humidity, temperature, dew point) during coating
Verify materials used, including paints, primers, and abrasives
Perform adhesion, DFT (Dry Film Thickness), WFT (Wet Film Thickness), and holiday testing
Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation
Approve or reject work based on inspection criteria
Coordinate with contractors, QA/QC teams, and client representatives
Report non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed during blasting and coating operations
