Key Responsibilities
Technical Authority
Act as the technical reference for all environmental-related issues.
Verify compliance of company operations (e.g., chemical usage) with laws, standards, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Policy & Standards Development
Develop and implement environmental standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintain and improve ADNOC’s Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001.
Environmental Assessments
Design, coordinate, and supervise Environmental Baseline Studies (EBS) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects and facilities.
Review operations and practices, identify improvement actions, and ensure timely implementation.
Monitoring & Performance
Develop performance measures for environmental protection and pollution control (e.g., emissions, waste management, effluent discharge).
Prepare and monitor environmental KPIs and recommend methodologies for sustainable performance.
Auditing & Compliance
Lead or support environmental audits and training programs.
Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE Management System and UAE regulatory requirements.
Advisory & Support
Provide expert advice to HSE Management, Business Units, and Project Teams at all stages (concept, execution, close-out).
Promote environmental awareness and best practices across the organization.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare reports on environmental performance, emissions inventory, waste projections, and sustainability initiatives.
Contribute to budget preparation and planning for the Environment Team.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
Experience: 10+ years in environmental management within oil & gas or heavy industry.
Certifications: ISO 14001 Lead Auditor preferred.
Skills: Strong knowledge of UAE environmental laws, international standards, and ADNOC CoPs; excellent analytical and communication skills.
