Safety Officer
Job Location : Saudi Arabia
Key Responsibilities :
• Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs on site.
• Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure all work activities comply with company safety standards, project requirements, and local legislation.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
• Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with corrective and preventive actions.
• Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as work at height, confined space entry, excavation, lifting operations, and hot work.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, permits, and HSE documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire drills, and evacuation exercises.
• Ensure first aid facilities, firefighting equipment, and emergency equipment are available and properly maintained.
• Liaise with project management, clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSE requirements.
• Promote continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
Qualifications :
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Typically 3–7 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction or industrial projects.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent safety certification is highly preferred.
• OSHA certification and First Aid/CPR training are an advantage.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems is preferred.
