Welding Inspector - CSWIP 3.1 & 3.2
Description :
• Conduct inspection and verification of welds, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards (e.g., ASME, API), and client specifications.
• Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and drawings to ensure proper implementation.
• Supervise welding activities during shutdowns, ensuring all processes meet quality and safety requirements.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual inspection, ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and radiographic testing to verify the integrity of welded joints.
• Ensure welding personnel are qualified and certified according to project specifications and industry standards.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting welding activities, inspection findings, and non-conformance issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other inspection personnel to resolve welding quality issues.
• Monitor welding consumables and equipment to ensure they are within calibration and certification limits.
• Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to welding teams on-site during critical shutdown periods.
Requirements:
• CSWIP 3.1 & 3.2 Certification (or equivalent international certification).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in welding inspection in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong experience in shutdowns and turnaround projects.
• Extensive knowledge of welding codes and standards such as ASME Section IX, API 1104, and AWS D1.1.
• Familiarity with various non-destructive testing methods and their application.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high-pressure shutdown environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
