What are my responsibilities?
Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings for rail systems, including track layouts, signaling diagrams, traction power supply, communication networks, and station facilities.
Prepare detailed design drawings, schematics, and installation plans for rail system components.
Ensure drawings incorporate the integration of rail systems with other disciplines such as civil, structural, and architectural elements.
Created and managed comprehensive BIM models for rail system designs using tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D and Revit.
Collaborate with BIM coordinators to resolve design clashes and maintain model accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Assist in the development of BIM execution plans tailored to rail system projects.
Work with engineers and project teams to understand system requirements and align designs with overall project objectives.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (especially civil interface coordination) to ensure seamless integration of rail systems with infrastructure components.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field focusing on rail systems.
Minimum 10 years of experience in rail system design and drafting.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and BIM software like Revit, Navisworks, or Bentley Open Rail Designer.
Experience in drafting and designing rail system components, including signaling, overhead catenary systems (OCS), traction power, and telecommunication networks.
Knowledge of rail system integration, including rolling stock, track alignment, and ancillary facilities.
Hands-on experience with rail projects, including metro, light rail, or high-speed rail systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in BIM tools
Familiarity with rail system simulation software.
Experience with international rail projects and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Understanding of electrification systems and trackwork.
Fluency in both written and spoken English.
