Job Summary:
The Head of Operations will be responsible for day-to-day operations, leading high performance and improvements at all levels for maximum efficiency and quality. This role will also involve liaising with the management team on operational strategy execution, process improvement initiatives, and high service provision levels. Strong leadership, customer-focused approach, and some experience in the fitness/wellness industry are key qualities required for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operational Oversight:
• Oversee all aspects of day-to-day operations, involving but not limited to the gym floor, group classes, wellness, and studio space.
• Design and implement standard operating procedures to ensure continuity of well-executed services.
• Work closely with the departmental leads to ensure that work runs seamlessly and resolve operational issues in a timely manner.
2. Performance & Quality Management:
• Report on operating performance indicators relating to member satisfaction, retention, facility maintenance, and staff productivity.
• Institution of the teams' performance benchmarks and review of results periodically with improvements where necessary.
3. Leading Teams:
• Provide strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring of team members and lead the development of a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
4. Process Optimization & Cost Management:
• Analyse process inefficiencies and provide economical solutions to better utilize resources without sacrificing service quality.
• Develop and manage the operations budget in collaboration with finance, tracking expenses and making adjustments as required.
5. Interdepartmental Collaboration:
• Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, and other vertical teams to align operational objectives to broader company goals.
• Support the execution of activities to ensure broader teams are prepared for additional volume.
7. Strategic Initiatives:
• Support the CEO in major strategic initiatives: the development of new service offerings, refinement of facility layouts, and other revenue opportunities.
• Be instrumental in project managing facility upgrades or new program launches to ensure timelines and budgets are met.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 5+ years in operations management, preferably within the fitness, wellness, or hospitality industry.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Skills: Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, operational know how and customer service skills.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in operations management software, such as Microsoft Teams Planner, and systems for membership or booking.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
