As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems within our construction sites. You will work closely with other technicians and engineers to ensure that all equipment operates smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will contribute significantly to minimizing downtime and enhancing productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues.
Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.
Troubleshoot mechanical failures using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Repair or replace defective parts using appropriate tools and equipment.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
Assist in training junior technicians on best practices for mechanical maintenance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing maintenance processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required
A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or construction environment.
Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals related to mechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, etc.
Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC certification, welding certification) are advantageous but not mandatory.
