The Sea Import Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to the import of goods via sea freight. This includes handling documentation, customs clearance, tracking shipments, liaising with carriers and clients, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor sea import shipments from origin to delivery.
Prepare and review import documentation such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
Liaise with shipping carriers, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and clients to ensure smooth cargo movement.
Track shipments and update clients on shipment status.
Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
Coordinate customs clearance processes and resolve any issues related to clearance delays or documentation.
Prepare and process import invoices, claims, and related financial documentation.
Maintain and update shipment records and reports.
Collaborate with internal teams such as logistics, sales, and finance to ensure seamless operations.
Stay updated on changes in import regulations and customs procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
1-5 years of experience in sea freight, import/export operations, or logistics coordination.
Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import procedures, and international trade documentation.
Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
