Job Description – Estimator (Joinery Division – Artcraft)
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with solid experience in joinery, carpentry,
and interior fit-out works. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates,
quotations, and tender submissions for bespoke joinery and woodwork projects. This role requires
strong analytical skills, knowledge of materials and production processes, and the ability to
collaborate with design, sales, and project teams to ensure competitive and profitable pricing
strategies.
Key Responsibilities
• Review and analyze tender documents, architectural/ID drawings, specifications, and BOQs
to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Prepare itemized quotations, unit rates, and budgets for joinery works including furniture,
doors, wardrobes, wall paneling, counters, kitchens, and custom wooden elements.
• Conduct material take-offs and cutting lists from approved drawings.
• Source and obtain supplier/subcontractor quotations for raw materials, hardware, finishes,
and specialized services.
• Coordinate with the design and drafting team to clarify details and ensure accurate costing.
• Work closely with sales and project managers to prepare competitive bids and valueengineered solutions.
• Maintain and update a cost database for materials, labor, and production processes.
• Evaluate variations, change orders, and additional works for pricing and client approval.
• Assist in contract negotiations and commercial discussions with clients.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and budget
targets.
Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Architectural Engineering, or
related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as an Estimator in a joinery, carpentry, or fit-out
company.
• Strong knowledge of joinery details, materials (wood, veneers, laminates, hardware,
finishes), and production processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (basic reading of drawings), and estimation
software/tools.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Good communication and negotiation skills for supplier and client coordination.

• Accuracy of cost estimates and BOQs.
• Timeliness of quotation/tender submissions.
• Success rate of bids converted into projects.
