Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements.
• Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
• Assemble and install a variety of metal or non-metal pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Inspect and test installed systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other testing equipment.
• Modify and repair existing piping systems as needed.
• Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and plastic.
• Collaborate with other trades (e.g., welders, electricians, HVAC technicians) on construction or repair projects.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or trade school preferred.
• Proven experience as a pipefitter in industrial, commercial, or residential settings.
• Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in welding, soldering, and pipe threading.
• Physical strength and stamina; ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
