A General Dentist is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing the overall oral health needs of patients, including preventive care, restorative procedures, and routine dental examinations. The role includes educating patients on oral hygiene, performing dental procedures, and ensuring a high standard of care in a professional, patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine dental examinations, cleanings, and preventive care.
Diagnose and treat dental conditions such as cavities, gum disease, and oral infections.
Provide restorative treatments including fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and root canals.
Perform extractions, including surgical extractions when necessary.
Administer local anesthesia and other pain management techniques.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care strategies.
Develop and present treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.
Maintain accurate patient records using electronic dental software.
Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and specialists when needed.
Comply with all infection control, health, and safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school.
