The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project schedules, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role involves close coordination with project managers, site teams, and other departments to track progress, forecast delays, and recommend corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities:
•Develop detailed project schedules using software tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
•Break down project work into Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and define key milestones
•Monitor project progress, update schedules, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports
•Analyze critical paths and identify potential risks or delays
•Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and site execution teams to track dependencies and resource needs
•Assist in cost control and earned value management (EVM) where applicable
•Participate in project review meetings and highlight variances against the baseline schedule
•Provide input for project planning, manpower loading, and resource allocation
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
•3-5 years of proven experience in project planning and scheduling
•Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and MS Excel
•Familiarity with construction methodologies, contract terms (FIDIC, EPC, etc.), and resource planning
•Knowledge of earned value management (EVM) and delay analysis techniques is a plus
