We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation, procurement, and contract administration for electrical works in our construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate quantity take-offs, budget control, and commercial compliance for all electrical components of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate quantity take-offs for electrical works from drawings and technical specifications.
Develop and maintain the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical systems including wiring, switchgear, lighting, fire alarms, ELV, BMS, and other services.
Assist in cost estimation, budget preparation, and tender documentation for electrical packages.
Evaluate and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for electrical materials and services.
Prepare and process payment applications, interim valuations, and final accounts for electrical contractors.
Track and analyze project costs, identify cost variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor site progress, validate installed electrical works, and prepare variation orders (VOs) when changes occur.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, project specifications, and applicable electrical codes and standards.
Support the procurement team in preparing purchase orders for electrical items.
Liaise with project managers, electrical engineers, and site supervisors to ensure coordination between commercial and technical aspects.
Maintain proper documentation and provide regular cost reporting to senior management.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in quantity surveying with a focus on electrical works.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods in construction projects.
Familiarity with local and international electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC).
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and QS software (e.g., Candy, CostX, or Buildsoft).
Excellent understanding of contract administration, particularly FIDIC or other standard forms.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to work on-site and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
