An Assistant Private Chef supports the Head or Private Chef in preparing high-quality meals for individuals or families in a private household or residence. The role involves assisting with menu planning, ingredient preparation, cooking, kitchen organization, and ensuring hygiene standards are met. Discretion, flexibility, and attention to detail are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and cooking meals as per the client’s dietary preferences or meal plans.
Support the Head Chef with mise en place, cooking, plating, and service.
Ensure all ingredients are fresh, stored properly, and ready for use.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and pantry areas.
Help plan menus based on dietary needs, seasonal availability, and preferences.
Assist in grocery shopping, inventory checks, and sourcing specialty items when needed.
Ensure food safety, kitchen hygiene, and sanitation standards are strictly followed.
Occasionally serve meals or prepare snacks and beverages as requested.
Assist in setting up for special events or dinners in the residence.
Maintain discretion and confidentiality within the private setting.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
1–3 years of experience in a private kitchen, hotel, or fine dining environment.
Knowledge of various cuisines and dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, low-sodium, etc.).
Strong cooking, prep, and food presentation skills.
Attention to detail and cleanliness.
Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
Professional demeanor and discretion in a private home setting.
