The QC Inspector – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical works (fabrication, installation, welding, assembly, etc.) meet the required quality standards, codes, and project specifications. This includes inspecting materials, procedures, and completed work for compliance and preparing detailed reports for documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspection and testing of mechanical systems, components, and materials in accordance with approved ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) and project specifications.
Monitor fabrication, welding, piping, HVAC, or other mechanical works at various stages to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
Review and verify Material Test Certificates (MTC), welding procedure specifications (WPS), and welder qualifications.
Witness and verify hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing, NDT results (RT, UT, PT, MT), and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with construction, engineering, and third-party inspectors for quality-related activities.
Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports and quality records as per the project QA/QC plan.
Ensure all quality inspections are carried out safely and with adherence to the site’s HSE policies.
Attend QA/QC meetings and provide updates on quality issues or improvements.
Support final handover by compiling inspection and test records into final dossiers.

Qualifications & Skills:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
3–7 years of experience in QC inspection, preferably in oil & gas, power, or industrial sectors.
Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI) is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of industry standards and codes (ASME, API, ISO, ANSI).
Experience with NDT techniques and coordination with NDT personnel.
Proficiency in documentation and use of QA/QC software tools (if applicable).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Understanding of HSE practices in industrial environments.
