Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis III to join our culinary team at SO/ Uptown Dubai. As a Commis III, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, contributing to the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes that meet our exacting standards.

Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards
Work efficiently in designated stations as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area throughout service
Properly portion, prepare, and store ingredients to minimize waste and ensure food safety
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food production
Assist in the plating and presentation of dishes to meet specifications
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
Support inventory management by participating in stock rotations and counts
Contribute to a positive kitchen environment through teamwork and communication
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary diploma preferred
1-2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen or full-service hotel
Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning
