Kitchen Steward
Job Location : United Arab Emirates
Responsibilities :
• Follows quality improvement team to increase efficiency, reduce wastage and streamline stewarding processes.
• Arranges adequate and appropriate equipment for projected Food Service needs.
• Ensures that equipment is replaced in the correct areas after usage.
• Responsible for doing the following as assigned
• Keeps kitchens, workrooms, and equipment clean and in order.
• Takes inventories of china, silverware, and glassware.
• Reports shortages and requisitions replacement of missing items
• Operates dish washing machine; Maintain organization - proper rack stacking, silver pre-soaking.
• Sweeps and mop floors. Keep floors clean and dry, pick-up wet spills immediately.
• Cleans ovens, hoods, filters, drains, hot boxes, steam tables, flat boxes and ceiling vents, according to schedule or as specified by lead steward.
• Separates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers; steam-cleans or hoses-out garbage cans.
• Sorts bottles and breaks disposable ones in bottle-crushing machine. - Polishes silver, using burnishing-machine tumbler, chemical dip, buffing wheel, and hand cloth, if required.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or by use of hand truck.
• Washes and peels vegetables using knife or peeling machine, when required. - Puts away all clean utensils; puts away and rotates stock in designated areas.
