Responsibilities:

Student Placement Coordination:

Coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate student placements.
Provide information and referral assistance to students.
Provide interpretation, advice, and decisions on rules and entitlements to students and academic staff.

Information Management:

Manage the timely production and dissemination of placement information and documentation to academic staff and students.
Maintain relevant placement websites and databases.
Maintain an employment database.

Student and Employer Engagement:

Actively follow up with students to monitor and measure satisfaction with the service and initiate improvements.
Customize student/employer matches by instituting competency modeling.
Interview students to assist them with choosing the most suitable placement or experiential learning experience.
Support faculty with student placements and experiential learning assignments.
Support businesses and community agencies that provide service learning experiences for students.
Design and implement student work-readiness programs including resume writing, interview preparation workshops, etc.
Communicate relevant placement/work experience opportunities to students.
Provide information, advice, and feedback to students on placement/work experience opportunities.

Monitoring and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, University policies, and procedures.
Ensure fair, ethical, and professional work practices in accordance with the CUA Code of Conduct.
Monitor students on placement and address any issues/problems in conjunction with the appropriate academic tutor.

Reporting and Administrative Support:

Write reports and assist with other parts of the internship and experiential program as required.
Respond to all inquiries (telephone, email, in person, via the website) providing advice to students, parents, and feeder schools.
Plan employment activities for alumni.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Experience in student placement, career services, or academic support within the higher education sector.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and advisory skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and database management tools.
Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism.
Experience working with students and employers in an advisory or coordination role.
Bilingual (Fluent in English and Arabic) preferred.
