The Job:
Our Team is currently seeking a strong Data Center Technician to support both company-specific servers as well as data center buildouts at customer data centers. The ideal candidate balances strong technical hardware, physical network set up, and verbal/written communication skills, who are also are highly analytical with superior attention-to-detail, self-motivated, and a positive, humble ‘results driven’ attitude. This person will serve as a mentor and trainer to other Service technicians in the field. Technicians are also expected to provide feedback, create documentation on both technical and non-technical processes, and contribute to our knowledge library that can be leveraged by others, for example KB Articles, SOP, lessons learned, etc. Additionally, the Tech will be both internal and external facing with the ability to lead and drive initiatives as assigned to a conclusion.
Troubleshoot and analyze complex server hardware and component failures.
Conduct root cause and failure analysis (RCA/FA) and document findings.
Support field deployments globally, assisting technicians in real time.
Perform network setup and troubleshooting across Layer 1–3 (cabling, switches, port mapping).
Maintain and optimize deployment equipment, software images, and system health tracking.
Provide technical training and New Product Introduction (NPI) sessions for field teams.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve hardware, firmware, and network issues.
Create and maintain SOPs, documentation, and technical guides.
Deliver clear communication and daily updates across teams and stakeholders.
Ensure high accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance with service quality standards.
Ideal Candidate:
What you bring:
Extensive server hardware troubleshooting expertise with deep understanding of system and component-level failures and diagnostics.
2+ years of hands-on data center technician experience, with strong ability to lead and mentor teams.
Proficient in failure analysis and server fleet health tracking, ensuring SLA adherence and proactive issue identification.
Advanced diagnostic skills, including IPMI tools, firmware updates, and software-based testing tools.
Skilled in both Windows Server and Linux environments, including PXE services, WinPE, and virtual machine setup.
Network troubleshooting knowledge across Layer 1, 2, and 3; CCENT/CCNA certification preferred.
Experienced in real-time issue resolution during deployments and complex technical scenarios.
Familiar with industry certifications like CompTIA A+, Server+, MCP/MCSE; Associate degree in IT or related field preferred.
Works well independently and in cross-functional or remote teams, with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
