Assistant Planning Engineer – Design (Precast Industry)
Job Location : Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Key Responsibilities :
• Develop and maintain project schedules for design, production, and delivery using planning software and internal systems.
• Track and monitor daily progress of design and drawing submittals to ensure timelines are met.
• Conduct regular progress reviews with design teams to identify potential bottlenecks and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare mitigation and recovery plans in coordination with project managers when delays occur.
• Read, interpret, and analyze precast design drawings and perform quantity take-offs for scheduling and planning purposes.
• Coordinate closely with design, production, procurement, and site teams to align schedules and deliverables.
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and resource updates for management review.
• Assist in preparing work breakdown structures (WBS) and baseline schedules in line with project requirements.
• Support senior planning engineers in maintaining and updating Primavera (P6) schedules.
• Ensure all planning activities comply with company standards, safety procedures, and project specifications.
Qualifications and Requirements :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (mandatory).
• 0-2 years of experience in project planning or design coordination, preferably in the precast or construction industry.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office Suite, and basic familiarity with Primavera P6.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for reviewing and referencing design drawings.
• Strong understanding of project scheduling principles, planning workflows, and progress tracking.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• UAE-based candidates preferred; immediate availability is an advantage.

• Time Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks and maintaining consistency in reporting and documentation.
