Responsibilities:
Plan and execute end-to-end wireless deployments, including site surveys and AP placement.
Configure, manage, and optimize Cisco WLCs (9800 / 5520) and associated WLAN services.
Handle AP joining process, routing & switching integrations, and controller policies.
Perform RF tuning (RRM, DCA), channel/power planning, and interference mitigation.
Troubleshoot user Wi-Fi issues, roaming problems, and authentication failures.
Configure and troubleshoot APs (indoor/outdoor) and antenna types as per design.
Implement and support 802.1X, RADIUS, and TACACS policies.
Monitor and analyze SNR/RSSI, throughput, and client experience metrics.
Document designs, standards, and change procedures; create MI for stakeholders.
Collaborate with security, network, and field teams to deliver reliable wireless services.
Requirements:
Hands-on expertise in:
AP joining process, routing & switching
Site surveys (predictive/on-site) and Wi-Fi design best practices
RF fundamentals (RRM, DCA), SNR/RSSI analysis
Cisco WLC models 9800 / 5520
AP configuration & troubleshooting across various AP models
SSID/BSSID concepts, wireless bands & protocols, 802.1X authentication
Local Mode vs. FlexConnect Mode, Wi-Fi roaming basics
RADIUS and TACACS basics
Strong troubleshooting mindset and stakeholder communication skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Enterprise/CCNP Wireless, CWNA/CWNP) are a plus.
