Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Implementation
Design and configure IBM Power Systems (HMC, LPARs, AIX, PowerVM)
Deploy and manage IBM SAN storage and Brocade Fibre Channel switches
Implement and manage IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect for backup and archiving
Integrate IBM infrastructure with VMware vSphere, Oracle DB, Microsoft workloads, and Veeam
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and Proof of Concepts (PoCs)
Operations & Administration
Perform daily monitoring, patching, and health checks for IBM AIX & PowerVM
Manage backup scheduling, monitoring, and restore testing
Conduct capacity planning and performance optimization
Handle incident, problem, and change management using ITIL frameworks
Coordinate with vendors including IBM, VMware, and Brocade
Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and SOPs
Security & Compliance
Implement Zero Trust security for IBM infrastructure
Perform firmware updates, vulnerability remediation, and access reviews
Ensure encryption, secure backups, and data protection controls
Maintain compliance with UAE cybersecurity regulations, ISO, ISMS, and internal IT policies
Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
Align IBM infrastructure with DR and BCP requirements
Participate in disaster recovery drills and recovery testing
Ensure backup and archive readiness for disaster scenarios
Deliverables & Reporting
Weekly and monthly IBM systems health reports
Backup, restore, and patch compliance reports
Incident, change, and problem management logs
DR drill outcomes and post-incident analysis
Quarterly service review and performance presentations
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
Certifications (Mandatory / Preferred):
IBM Certified AIX & PowerVM Professional (mandatory)
ITIL certification (preferred)
Technical & Professional Skills:
Strong expertise in IBM Power Systems, AIX, and PowerVM
Hands-on experience with IBM SAN (V7000 / V9000) and Brocade SAN
In-depth knowledge of IBM TSM / Spectrum Protect
Integration experience with VMware, Oracle, Microsoft platforms
Strong understanding of ITIL, ISO, and ISMS frameworks
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills
Experience:
6–10+ years of experience in IBM infrastructure managed services

Average Market Salary (Estimated – Dubai, UAE):
AED 25,000 – 35,000 per month (Based on experience level, IBM infrastructure specialization, and regional market benchmarks)
