Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Gyro Engineer to support oil & gas drilling operations in Kuwait. The selected candidate will be responsible for independent execution of high-accuracy gyro wellbore surveys, ensuring precise wellbore positioning and compliance with HSE, company, and client standards.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
General:
Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Gyro Engineer in oil & gas drilling operations
Strong understanding of wellbore surveying and collision avoidance
Familiar with HSE standards, PTW systems, rig safety, and PPE requirements
Proven ability to work independently on rig sites
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Gyro Operations:
Perform non-magnetic gyro surveys in cased-hole and open-hole wells
Operate North-Seeking Gyro, FOG, and MEMS gyro tools
Conduct pre-job and post-job calibration, testing, and verification
Ensure accurate measurement of azimuth, inclination, and true north
Troubleshoot tool and data-quality issues during operations
Data & Reporting:
Review, validate, and interpret gyro survey data
Identify anomalies and implement corrective actions
Prepare and submit detailed gyro survey reports to clients and drilling teams
Coordinate closely with Directional Drillers, MWD/LWD engineers, and drilling supervisors
Leadership & Client Support:
Act as on-site technical focal point for gyro operations
Mentor junior gyro engineers and technicians
Maintain clear communication with clients and rig crews
Support critical and tight-tolerance drilling operations
Education Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
Valid H2S certification
Relevant rig safety and gyro tool certifications (preferred)
