Description:
We are currently hiring a skilled and detail-focused General Accountant / Accountant to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This role is best suited for professionals with a solid background in the construction or engineering industry and a proven track record of handling accounting operations within the UAE market. Candidates must already be based in the UAE and available to join immediately.
The selected accountant will play a key role in managing financial accuracy, compliance, and coordination with internal project teams while ensuring adherence to local tax and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor project costs, control budgets, and ensure financial discipline across operations.
Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and account reconciliations.
Coordinate closely with project managers and site teams on financial matters.
Manage VAT filing, related documentation, and ongoing compliance activities.
Ensure full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax regulations and reporting standards.
Liaise with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for submissions, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with attested certificates.
At least five (5) years of hands-on UAE experience within the construction or engineering industry.
Strong working knowledge of VAT laws, FTA regulations, and UAE Corporate Tax.
Proven experience in cost accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Arabic language proficiency is mandatory.
Experience using ERP systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to successfully pass a written accounting assessment.
