Consultant Physician – Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Location: Abu Dhabi / Al Ain Region, UAE

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Consultant Physician – Pediatric Emergency Medicine to join a leading tertiary healthcare institution. The successful candidate will provide expert emergency care to neonates, infants, children, and adolescents, managing a broad spectrum of acute and life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
Core Clinical Responsibilities
• Provide immediate assessment, stabilization, and management of pediatric emergencies including:
Respiratory distress and asthma exacerbations
Sepsis and septic shock
Trauma and polytrauma
Status epilepticus and acute neurologic events
Severe dehydration and metabolic crises
Pediatric cardiac emergencies
• Lead pediatric resuscitation following PALS and international emergency protocols
• Perform advanced emergency procedures such as:
Endotracheal intubation
Central and intraosseous access
Procedural sedation
Chest tube insertion (if credentialed)
• Supervise and support emergency department physicians and junior staff
• Coordinate care with PICU, NICU, Surgery, and subspecialty teams
• Participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement programs
• Ensure compliance with DOH regulations and international patient safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements
• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Board Certification / Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics with Emergency specialization
• DOH License or DOH Exam Passer (Abu Dhabi)
• Dataflow Completed
• Minimum 5+ years of post-board experience in Pediatric Emergency setting
• Valid PALS / ACLS certification
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills
