Data Engineering Tech Lead

We are looking for a senior Data Engineering Tech Lead to join an established data team. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely managerial one.
Technical Requirements:
Strong SQL and Python skills
PySpark for large-scale data processing
AWS: Glue, S3, CloudFormation
Solid Data Warehousing fundamentals
What you'll actually do:
Own the technical direction for the data engineering team
Mentor and guide junior DEs and Data Managers
Review architectures, solve blockers, set standards
Be the go to person when the team hits a wall
The profile we're after:
Someone who leads by doing, not just directing
Proactive communicator - flags issues early, doesn't wait
Sharp problem-solver with strong first-principles thinking
Comfortable operating with ambiguity
This role is not for you if:
You prefer pure IC work with no team responsibility
