Mechanical Engineer (Oil & Gas)
Purpose
To supervise and ensure the safe, quality, and timely execution of mechanical construction activities, particularly piping and pipeline works, in compliance with project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision
Supervise piping fabrication, installation, erection, and pipeline laying activities at site.
Monitor daily mechanical works and ensure execution as per approved drawings and procedures.
Resolve site technical issues related to mechanical construction.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all mechanical works meet KOC specifications and international standards.
Witness and verify welding, NDT, hydro-testing, and flushing activities.
Conduct regular site inspections and surveillance on mechanical installations.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with QA/QC, HSE, Civil, and Electrical teams for smooth progress.
Prepare daily and weekly mechanical progress reports and punch lists.
Participate in joint inspections with client representatives.
Material & Safety Management
Verify material receiving, storage, and installation compliance.
Support pre-commissioning and mechanical completion activities.
Promote safe working practices and HSE compliance during execution.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and KSE Membership is mandatory.
Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas site construction.
Proven experience with KOC / KNPC / KIPIC / JO projects in piping/pipeline works.
