Job Vacancy - Digital Librarian
We are seeking a passionate and technology-savvy Digital Librarian to lead our digital library services and inspire a love of reading, research, and digital literacy among students.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage digital library platforms such as Destiny, Follett, OverDrive, Sora, and academic databases including Britannica and JSTOR.
2. Train students and teachers in academic research skills, digital literacy, citation methods, and plagiarism prevention.
3. Organize reading challenges, digital book fairs, author events, and Library Week activities.
4. Select, evaluate, and procure e-books, digital subscriptions, and learning resources aligned with the school curriculum.
5. Support teachers in integrating digital resources into classroom instruction and assist with Makerspace initiatives.
6. Maintain library records, manage borrowing and returns, and prepare library usage reports for KHDA and school leadership.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Library & Information Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Library Science Diploma or professional certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a school, college, or university library.
- Experience working with international curricula is an advantage.
Skills
Strong technical and digital literacy skills.
- Experience with LMS platforms such as Manage Bac, Canvas, or similar systems.
- Excellent English communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of digital research tools, academic databases, and information management systems.
