Davidson Management Consultants have been mandated to recruit a DOH licensed General Practitioner for their client in Abu Dhabi, UAE which is a specialized mental health facility providing inpatient, outpatient, and behavioral health services. We are looking for General Practitioners with a valid Department of Health (DOH) license and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of clinical experience, including mandatory experience working within Psychiatry, Mental Health, Addiction Medicine, or Psychiatric Hospital settings. Native Arabic speakers and candidates with experience in multidisciplinary mental health environments would be highly preferred. This position requires regular night shift coverage and candidates must be willing and able to work independently during overnight hours while providing medical support to inpatient psychiatric services.The General Practitioner will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing medical management for patients receiving psychiatric and behavioral health services. Conduct detailed medical evaluations, physical examinations, medical screening assessments, and risk assessments for patients presenting with mental health conditions. Identify and manage acute and chronic medical illnesses while ensuring that physical health needs are appropriately addressed alongside psychiatric treatment plans.
Work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and coordinated patient care. Monitor patients receiving psychotropic medications and assist in identifying medication-related side effects, adverse reactions, and physical health complications. Participate in admission assessments, inpatient reviews, discharge planning, and continuity of care processes.Provide medical support for patients with co-existing medical conditions including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory illnesses, metabolic disorders, and other chronic health conditions commonly encountered within psychiatric populations. During night shifts, provide immediate medical assessment and intervention for urgent clinical situations, respond to medical emergencies, evaluate deteriorating patients, and coordinate transfer or escalation of care when required. Ensure continuous medical coverage and clinical support for nursing and psychiatric teams during overnight operations.Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, treatment records, and discharge summaries in accordance with Department of Health regulations and facility policies. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, accreditation activities, and continuing medical education programs. Ensure compliance with clinical governance standards, patient safety requirements, infection control policies, and ethical medical practice while contributing to the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered mental healthcare services.
Salary : Aed 25,000 per month plus family benefits (Salary mentioned in the advertisement is indicative. The final offer lies at the discretion of the client and will be made after completion of interviews).
