Davidson Management Consultants have been mandated to recruit a western trained, native Arabic speaking, Addiction Medicine Physician for their client in UAE which is a premium addiction rehabilitation hospital and residential treatment facility providing high-end inpatient, residential, detoxification, and recovery services for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. We are looking for Board Certified / Fellowship trained Addiction Medicine Physicians with experience in addiction treatment, detoxification medicine, and medically supervised rehabilitation environments.The Addiction Medicine Physician will be responsible for the medical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, stabilization, and ongoing clinical management of patients with substance use disorders and related co-occurring medical conditions. The role requires delivering safe, discreet, evidence-based, and personalized care throughout detoxification, rehabilitation, relapse prevention, and discharge planning within a premium residential treatment environment.Conduct detailed medical evaluations upon admission, assessing substance use history, withdrawal risk, overdose risk, prior treatment history, co-occurring physical health conditions, and medical suitability for inpatient, residential, or step-down levels of care. Identify acute and chronic medical complications associated with alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants, cannabis, and other substances, and review psychiatric history in collaboration with Psychiatry and Psychology teams.Lead and supervise medically monitored detoxification programs, developing individualized detoxification plans based on substance type, duration of use, dependence severity, and medical comorbidities. Prescribe and monitor withdrawal management medications and manage high-risk detoxification cases including alcohol withdrawal, benzodiazepine withdrawal, opioid withdrawal, and polysubstance withdrawal. Monitor for complications including seizures, delirium, dehydration, cardiovascular instability, and escalate care appropriately when required.Prescribe and oversee addiction-related pharmacotherapies and medication-assisted treatment, while managing medications for co-existing medical conditions. Review medication interactions, misuse potential, dependence risks, and adherence concerns to ensure safe prescribing practices in patients with substance misuse histories.Establish medical diagnoses related to substance use disorders and contribute to integrated multidisciplinary treatment planning with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, and case managers. Participate in regular multidisciplinary case conferences and treatment reviews, defining medical treatment goals and contributing to decisions regarding transitions between detox, inpatient rehabilitation, residential treatment, outpatient programs, and aftercare pathways.Monitor for clinical deterioration, relapse risk, overdose risk, self-harm risk, medication diversion, and other medical safety concerns throughout the patient journey. Respond to urgent medical issues within the facility and support medical emergency preparedness and escalation protocols. Maintain exceptional standards of documentation, confidentiality, professionalism, and patient dignity consistent with a premium rehabilitation environment.Provide education to patients and families regarding the medical aspects of addiction, detoxification, relapse prevention, medication-assisted treatment, and long-term recovery pathways. Participate in family meetings where medically relevant and support realistic expectation setting around treatment and recovery processes.
Salary : Aed 80,000 per month plus family benefits and performance incentives (Salary mentioned in the advertisement is indicative. The final offer lies at the discretion of the client and will be made after completion of interviews).
