Job Purpose:
The VNA Operator is responsible for safely operating Very Narrow Aisle forklifts to move, locate, and handle materials within a warehouse setting. This role is crucial for maximizing storage efficiency in narrow aisles while ensuring the accurate handling of inventory. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Forklift Operation:
Operate Very Narrow Aisle forklifts to transport materials safely within the warehouse.
Conduct pre-operational checks on VNA equipment, ensuring all safety features are functioning properly.
Maneuver forklifts in tight spaces, maximizing storage and ensuring efficient inventory retrieval.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Move goods and materials from receiving areas to storage or production areas.
Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring safe handling practices.
Inventory Management:
Assist in receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming shipments.
Accurately label and stock products in designated storage locations.
Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
Track and manage stock movements
Order Fulfillment:
Pick and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and quality.
Pack and label items for shipping, following company standards and procedures.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely order processing.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and company policies related to material handling and forklift operation.
Participate in safety training and maintain certifications as required.
Report any safety hazards, incidents, or accidents to management immediately.
General Warehouse Duties:
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the warehouse floor.
Assist in other warehouse tasks as assigned by supervisors, such as cleaning, organizing, and performing maintenance on equipment.
Collaborate with team members to achieve operational goals and improve processes.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 30 Kg regularly.
Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment in a safe manner.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety shoes, and helmets will be required.
