Position: MEP Safety Officer
Location: UAE
Key Responsibilities
Implement and enforce company HSE policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
Monitor MEP activities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, testing, and commissioning works.
Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations, client requirements, and international safety standards.
Conduct safety induction programs for new employees and subcontractors.
Deliver daily toolbox talks and safety awareness training.
Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain HSE documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, PTW records, training records, and safety statistics.
Inspect scaffolding, ladders, lifting equipment, power tools, and firefighting equipment.
Liaise with project engineers, supervisors, consultants, and client representatives on HSE matters.
Participate in internal and external HSE audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive hazard reporting among all workers.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory or Preferred).
IOSH Managing Safely/Working Safely.
OSHA Certification (Preferred).
First Aid and Fire Warden certification is an advantage.
Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in MEP or construction projects.
UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
Strong knowledge of MEP construction activities and associated hazards.
