Position: QC Engineer ā Miter Bend & Fittings

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Welding
š§ Key Responsibilities
Control and ensure quality throughout miter bend and fittings manufacturing.
Coordinate with Client/TPIA for inspections, testing, comments, punch points, and product release.
Review approved drawings, project specifications, ITPs, procedures, and inspection requirements.
Conduct/coordinate inspections at:
Material receiving
Cutting & fit-up
Welding
PWHT / Heat Treatment
NDT
Dimensional inspection
Pressure testing
Final inspection
Verify material identification, heat-number traceability, MTCs, and product identification.
Ensure welding complies with approved WPS/PQR and qualified welders.
Monitor welding parameters, preheat, interpass temperature, and consumable control.
Coordinate and review RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI, hardness, and other NDT/test reports.
Perform dimensional inspection including angle, radius, center-to-face dimensions, wall thickness, orientation, ovality, straightness, flange/end preparation, and tolerances.
Verify PWHT and hydrostatic/pressure-test records.
Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is properly calibrated.
Identify nonconformities and coordinate NCR, repair, corrective action, and re-inspection.
Maintain complete inspection and test records.
Ensure product marking, traceability, and final inspection status before release.
Provide technical quality support to Production and Engineering teams.

Prepare Inspection Requests/Notifications and coordinate Client/TPIA attendance.
Ensure all Hold, Witness, and Review Points are completed before proceeding.
Monitor weld repairs and ensure repaired areas are re-inspected.
Ensure all QA/QC punch points are closed before final product release.
š Candidate Requirements
7ā10 years of relevant experience in:
Pipe Fabrication
Miter Bends
Fittings
Welding Inspection
Oil & Gas Manufacturing
Strong knowledge of applicable ASME, API, ASTM, AWS, and MSS requirements.
Knowledge of project specifications and QA/QC procedures.
CSWIP/AWS Welding Inspector certification is an advantage.
NDT Level II certification is preferred.
ISO 9001 knowledge/certification is an advantage.
Strong coordination and communication skills.
Good understanding of HSE requirements and QA/QC documentation.

The QC Engineer will ensure that miter bends and fittings are inspected and accepted at every required manufacturing stage, with complete traceability and inspection records, ensuring only conforming products proceed to final release.
