Health & Safety Officer
Job Location : Dubai, UAE
Requirements :
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Health & Safety Officer in a school or educational institution.
• Previous school/educational institution experience is mandatory.
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent HSE certification is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of school safety, risk assessment, fire safety, emergency procedures, and incident management.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, staff, parents, contractors, and management.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and HSE documentation.
• UAE experience and knowledge of local health and safety requirements will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities :
• Implement and monitor school Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety inspections across classrooms, laboratories, playgrounds, offices, cafeterias, and other school facilities.
• Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Monitor fire safety systems, emergency exits, evacuation routes, and emergency procedures.
• Conduct and coordinate fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises.
• Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss incidents and recommend preventive measures.
• Ensure staff and students follow appropriate health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with maintenance, security, transport, cleaning, and other departments on safety matters.
• Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with school safety requirements.
• Conduct safety awareness sessions and staff training.
• Ensure proper availability and use of first-aid facilities and PPE where required.
• Support the school management in maintaining compliance with UAE regulations and relevant educational authority requirements.
