We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Ophthalmologist to join a leading healthcare facility. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive eye care, diagnose and manage a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, perform ophthalmic procedures according to their expertise, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive ophthalmic consultations and eye examinations.
Diagnose and manage diseases and disorders affecting the eye and visual system.
Manage conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, corneal disorders, retinal diseases, dry eye, and other ophthalmic conditions.
Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries according to qualifications and clinical expertise.
Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide post-operative follow-up care.
Perform and interpret diagnostic investigations including OCT, visual field testing, fundus examination, tonometry, and other ophthalmic investigations.
Manage ophthalmic emergencies and provide appropriate treatment.
Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and other appropriate treatments.
Provide counseling regarding treatment options, preventive eye care, and surgical procedures.
Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, nurses, and other medical specialists.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare authority regulations, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
Participate in on-call duties and emergency ophthalmology coverage as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
MD / MS / DNB / FRCS / Arab Board or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Ophthalmology.
Valid or eligible medical license from the relevant GCC healthcare authority.
Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as an Ophthalmologist.
Strong clinical experience in general ophthalmology.
Surgical experience is preferred, depending on the position.
Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic, communication, and patient management skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
