We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Architect to lead architectural design development, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure the successful delivery of projects in accordance with client requirements, design standards, and UAE regulations.
Job Description: The Senior Architect will be responsible for overseeing architectural design and development from concept to completion, managing project documentation, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring that all architectural works meet the required quality, technical, and regulatory standards.
The ideal candidate should possess strong design capabilities, technical expertise, project coordination skills, and proven experience working on architectural and interior fit-out projects in the UAE.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architectural Design & Development:
- Develop and oversee architectural concepts, layouts, space planning, and detailed design proposals.
- Prepare and review architectural drawings, plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Ensure designs meet client expectations, functional requirements, aesthetic standards, and project specifications.
- Review materials, finishes, and design details in coordination with the interior design team.
2. Technical Drawings & Documentation:
- Prepare, review, and coordinate detailed architectural drawings and construction documentation.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated, and suitable for execution on-site.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, technical specifications, and as-built drawings.
- Identify and resolve design discrepancies and technical issues before and during execution.
3. Project Coordination & Site Supervision:
- Coordinate with interior designers, structural and MEP consultants, project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct site visits to monitor architectural works and ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and resolve architectural issues encountered during project execution.
- Monitor design implementation, workmanship, and project progress.
4. Authority Approvals & UAE Compliance:
- Coordinate architectural submissions and approvals with relevant UAE authorities, consultants, developers, and building management teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE building regulations, authority requirements, and project-specific guidelines.
- Support the preparation and submission of drawings and documentation required for project approvals.
- Coordinate revisions and respond to technical comments from consultants and authorities.
5. Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Attend client meetings and design coordination meetings.
- Understand project briefs and translate client requirements into practical architectural solutions.
- Present design proposals, technical details, and project updates to clients and management.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Team Leadership & Quality Control:
- Lead and guide junior architects and coordinate the architectural team’s workload.
- Review design deliverables to ensure technical accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Identify potential design and execution risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and project deliverables.
Job Specification & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 3–4 years of UAE experience is mandatory in architecture, interior design, fit-out, or a related construction environment.
- Proven experience in architectural design, technical drawings, project coordination, and site execution.
- Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations, authority approval procedures, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD mainly 2D and other relevant architectural design software.
- Working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Lumion, or other BIM and visualization tools will be an advantage.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Experience in interior fit-out projects, material selection, detailing, and construction documentation is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a practical understanding of site execution.
- Candidates must be available to work on-site in Dubai.
Mandatory Requirement:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 3–4 years of professional experience in the UAE. Applicants without relevant UAE experience will not be considered.
