30 years’ experience in oil & gas industry. Assigned for well production operations (mainly upstream), onsite rig-less operations & well intervention activities e.g. formation stimulation, production logging, Through Tubing WSO, well testing - DST, perf/re-perf, gaslift valve change and cleaning, bottom hole sampling collection, running sand screen, well-tracer (CO2) surveys for gal-lifted wells, tubing punch operations, well leak detector logging, well kick-off operations etc. Performing all that intervention work utilizing slick-line, eline, and Coil Tubing for deviated and horizontal wells. Writing proposals/programs in addition to the on-site supervision, and job post appraisal for lesson learned). Rig-workover recommendations & writing proposals, follow-up drilling operations/reports & feeding Drilling Department with the required information while drilling/workover. Well integrity activities and safe well operations under static and flowing conditions. Well services, reservoir surveillance, water injection operations, well performance and artificial lift analysis to detect under-performing wells to decide the required remedial work with cost effective and safe technique as per company HSE regulations in both offshore and onshore fields.
Studying and comparing the advantages of intelligent/smart completion versus conventional completion string in order to control production from reservoir(s) of different permeability’s and pressures, to eliminate well intervention activities specifically in sour environment, and to stimulate reservoir(s) selectively. One of my task in 2004 in ADCO Abu Dhabi was to prepare and manage a project of Intelligent Completion installation; I was the key person in NEB team who concerned with the design and implementation of the first pilot project of Smart Completion Technology in Abu Dhabi. Completion was installed, tested, functioned, and performed stimulation and testing different reservoirs selectively, under my supervision in December 2004.
Preparing annual, and as required, fields well-intervention campaign based on the annual field(s) requirements in terms of reservoir surveillance/data acquisition plans, production enhancement jobs, well integrity, and any other well intervention jobs (utilizing, Wireline, slickline, CTU, pumping etc.) to be run on a campaign basis for cost saving purpose.
Well Integrity assignments during a well life cycle starting from the design phase passing through construction, operational, intervention, remedial, and abonnement phases. Define, diagnosis, implement all jobs to maintain a well/reservoirs/aquifers in safe conditions during static and flowing condition, which recall for tubular metallurgy evaluation, cementing jobs/logs, well integrity logs, monitoring annuli pressure, risk assessment, well subsidence problems, establishing WIMS, etc.
Acting as consultant production technologist, with other consultants of reservoir engineering, Geology, Petrophysicists, Well Intervention, and others in Technical Committee. The role of that committee is to review, evaluates, and endorse any production enhancement proposals provided by production technologists/reservoir engineers related to workover, formation stimulation, down-hole sand consolidation, adding perf’s, WSO, GSO, cement packer, gas lift optimization work, completion/recompletion and other well intervention operations.
