- Handled role as Technical service engineer & Plant Manager at various stages of my career for Hydro-processing & sour gas treatment plant.
- Work experience in Lubricant base oil hydro-processing & Iso dewaxing, amine treatment units in HPCL as both Technical services Engineer & Operations engineer. Also worked in Sulfur recovery, Amine regeneration & Sour water stripping units as field engineer.
- Monitor the plant day-to-day technical performance; provide corrective actions, procedures and recommendations to overcome plant problems
- Lead activities such as troubleshooting, unit monitoring, start-up and shutdown activities, capacity test runs, and technology pilot testing for hydro-processing facility.
- Provide technical service consultation to operating assets of Hydro-processing plant and operational issues
- Develop Standard operating procedures (SOP) and standing instructions to provide efficient overall control and coordination.
- Monitored activity & aging rate of hydroprocessing & dewaxing catalysts by analyzing catalyst bed temperatures to improve the catalyst life & optimize the hydrogen consumption in reactor.
- Identify & propose cost optimization or process improvement initiatives with minimal capex and implement through operational changes (MOC) or design modification.
- Participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies.
- Participate in incident investigation, Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) & investigating process upsets
- Using simulation software Aspen Hysys for Vessel sizing, control valve calculation & heat exchanger design



- Support day-to-day operations by providing engineering analysis and process troubleshooting of equipment items utilizing data analytics and process monitoring software (Honeywell Uniformance), to interpret operating data to monitor catalyst performance, recommend operating guidelines
- Provide operation input of plant related modifications, projects, HAZOP, process flow diagrams review (PID’s) for improvements/ enhancements
- Coordinate plant shutdowns and turnarounds to facilitate smooth plant operations.
- Prepare management of change (MOC) by reviewing and improving designs for operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance
- Lead the MOC end to end workflow including prefeasibility study, benefit evaluation, safety review, Hazop and implementation. Ensure all design comply with applicable engineering standards. 17 MOCs processed with an estimated annual savings of Rs. 2.8 crores.
- Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), What-if analysis, HAZOP study for all plant modifications and adhere to the Management of Change (MOC) procedure. Was member for 18 Hazop studies including Cyclic Hazop
- Reviewing and approving process flow diagrams (PFD) & Process and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID).
- Hands on operations experience of base oil hydroprocessing & Isodewaxing unit, Sulfur recovery unit (SRU), Amine Regeneration unit (ARU) & Sour water stripping unit (SWSU).
- Provide shutdown and startup assistance, including catalyst loading, regeneration, and development of procedures for catalyst sulfiding
